Custom earmolds
If your job or hobby subjects you to noise, you should wear hearing protection to guard against hearing loss.
The audiologist uses 3D ear scanning to create a digital impression of your ear. Big Thicket Hearing Aids & Audiology is the only practice in East Texas to offer this service. The digital scan is used to create earmolds in a variety of colors and types that will fit your ears perfectly. There are earmolds that are solid, while others are made of soft material.
Full-shell earmolds fill the entire bowl of the ear and are worn for protection in high-level noise situations. Half-shell earmolds protect in mid-level noise situations. Some earmolds feature an attenuator that allows safe levels of noise, such as conversation, to be heard while blocking damaging levels of noise.
Custom earplugs
Custom earplugs are worn in the ear canal. We use the same 3D ear scanning process to create a digital scan of your ear canal as we use for custom earmolds and hearing aids.
Custom earplugs are available in a variety of materials. We offer earplugs that block water or wind, as well as provide noise protection. These earplugs are popular with watersport enthusiasts. Other earplugs are perfect for those who work in a noisy environment like flight attendants or bartenders.

Earplugs for firearms
Earplugs for hunting, shooting, skeet and any other sudden noise. You hear normally until damaging noise levels are reached. The filter instantaneously closes to block noise.
