It’s my firm belief that cost should never be a barrier to caring for your hearing health. When I founded Big Thicket Hearing Aids & Audiology, my goal was to create a hearing clinic that provides excellent yet affordable hearing care to the people of Hardin County.

As part of our commitment to affordability, our hearing center offers hearing aid repairs to make this service available to the community at a budget-friendly rate.

In-House Hearing Aid Repair Service

Although today’s hearing aids are intricate technological devices, they do not require frequent repair under typical circumstances. On those rare occasions that your hearing aids need professional repair, you must seek help from an expert specializing in hearing aid care.

You’ll find such experts at Big Thicket Hearing Aids & Audiology. My colleagues and I have over 16 years of combined experience in resolving hearing aid problems.

Our main service is fixing hearing aids that aren’t performing well or aren’t working at all. We also offer regular cleaning and maintenance as a service to preserve the sound quality and longevity of our patients’ hearing devices. Our in-house repair service covers the following brands:

  • ReSound
  • Starkey
  • Phonak
  • Widex
  • Oticon
  • Signia

We take pride in fixing as many hearing aid issues in-house as possible because that lowers our patients’ costs. At our hearing center, there’s a flat fee of $60 for office visits. When we repair hearing aids during an office visit, there is only a $60 charge.

When a Device Needs Further Attention

From time to time, our diagnostic reveals we need to order a part or send the device to the manufacturer. There’s an additional charge for those services. However, the fees vary according to what each manufacturer charges. When we have to send out a repair, our typical warranty is $300.

We send hearing aids out via Federal Express or DHL to get them to the manufacturer quickly.

Hearing Aid Loaner Service

Since we understand the vital role of hearing instruments in our patients’ lives, we don’t want our patients to face the struggles days without hearing aids can bring. Therefore, our clinic operates a loaner service for patients whose devices have been sent out for repair.

We keep a broad assortment of hearing aids on hand for our loaner program. Patients can borrow a pair of hearing aids that fit their prescription.

The Importance of Regular Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper care can prevent many hearing aid performance problems. Also, regular maintenance extends the life of the devices. Most users need to have their hearing aids professionally cleaned at least every 6 to 12 months.

There are things users can do at home to care for their hearing aids. Once a month, it’s a good idea to inspect the wax guards and change them if debris has accumulated on them.
